Chronic Kidney Disease

To understand CKD, think of spaghetti being drained through a colander. The water is supposed to be drained through the spaghetti and out the bottom.

If the colander's holes are too big, some spaghetti can block the colander's holes. The colander's cogged holes can then slow or even stop waste water from flowing out of the colander.

Like a blocked colander, CKD patients are unable to remove waste through their kidney. A blocked kidney can cause discomfort and may lead to more serious complications.
