Take Your Website Live

We Do Not Control Your Domain Name

So, to take your website live our Tech Team need to point your domain (www.yourwebsite.com.au) to our website server or host location.

What is a DNS?

Domain Name Servers (DNS) are the Internet's equivalent of a phone book. The DNS maintain a directory of domain names and translate them to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. This is necessary because, although domain names are easy for people to remember, computers or machines, access websites based on IP addresses.

Taking Your Website Live

There are three methods to achieve this, they are:

Method 1 - Allow Us to Manage YOUR DNS

Enable YPO to manage your DNS directly. This is preferred as it enables us to promptly act on any service issues. We will also renew your domain when required.

With this access we can point your A Record (or www address) to the website files hosted on our server in Sydney.

You still own the domain.

Method 2 - SHARE DNS CONTROL PANEL ACCESS

Share your domain registrar's "Control Panel" login details. To access your domain name server (DNS) console we require:

DNS Website Login Address - www.(login url)

Account Username

Account password

With this access we can point your A Record (or www address) to the website files hosted on our server in Sydney.

Method 3 - SHARE THE WEBSITE HOST IP

Where you do not want to share your DNS logins you will need to advise your IT people where to point your DNS A Record.

In this case we will supply your new website's server or host location's IP Address.

We do not normally deal directly with your IT staff as it requires levels of authentication which can lead to poor service.

So if you can advise us how yo want to take the website live we will comply.
